There are three offsets with the High Performance Triple Offset Butterfly Valve. Two are positioned similarly to a double offset butterfly valve, while the third offset is the geometry of the sitting surface, resulting in a cone-shaped disc and seat. This cone angle, together with the two eccentric shaft offsets, allows the disc to seal against the seat without causing friction.
