High Performance Double Offset Butterfly Valves can process everything that general service butterfly valves can, but they are designed to withstand liquids and gases that general service valves cannot. They have PTFE seats, which can withstand chemically reactive and corrosive liquids, gases, and steam. Whereas standard butterfly valves are made of elastomers that erode, high-performance butterfly valves use robust materials like graphite to seal the seat. Another advantage is that they are available in diameters ranging from 12" to 60", allowing them to be employed in larger applications.
